This is just a simple demo of our Gaikai video game streaming technology working in a Firefox browser with no installs, no plug-ins. These retail games (selected because we think they are cool) are all being played on a remote server with a 800 mile round trip to my PC.
The games are unmodified and are completely virtualized so we can run multiple different games on the same server at the same time. One of the reasons the iPhone has over a billion downloads now, is because they made access really easy (click to download, click to play), we have managed to get our technology down to just the single “click to play” so you can play anywhere on the web (home, work, school, on the road), and the games can come to you (on a Facebook canvas page, Myspace, Flash sites etc.)
We will start buying bulk servers soon and after that, we will begin closed beta in California, so make sure to sign up at: www.gaikai.com if you want to help us out. My blog is at: www.dperry.com

http://www.ted.com At the 2007 EG conference, Kevin Kelly shares a fun stat: The World Wide Web, as we know it, is only 5,000 days old. Now, Kelly asks, how can we predict what’s coming in the next 5,000 days?

I know about playing a playlist (m3u) that is in a separate file using a media player embedded in an HTML page but I need to play multiple audio files sequentially within the same HTML page. This is because the HTML page is generated via a program. It can create the HTML but not the m3u playlist file.

The BBC newshour site
http://www.bbc.co.uk/worldservice/programmes/newshour/
allows streaming of only the latest episodes. Is there a public archive through the BBC or a third party?
The BBC global news program is available on the BBC site at http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio/podcasts/globalnews/. For Newshour specifically, Audible.com has audio files available for purchase at http://www.audible.com/. Search for "BBC Newshour" and you will find the complete list of archived files.
I need to learn how to set my computer to have the smoothest video stream. I want less buffering. I have a cable hookup, new computer with no virus. Does the buffering get worse during peak hours for internet usage? I have heard several different opinions. I know my computer seems slower on weekends and during prime time 8-11pm est. Thank you. Any tips will be appreciated, keep it simple please. In computer knowledge, would rate myself maybe a 4 or 5 out of 10. lol.

Can’t live without it and windows…
Then disable and/or uninstall whatever u don’t need.
Other things to try:
1 – Disk Cleanup (removal of temp files, cookies, etc.)

Beyond the DVD format, which video format is expected to last longest and is most flexible ? Is there a non-proprietary video format similar to the non-proprietary text format, XML ?
You should check out iTunes podcast -Videomaker Presents. They will tell you everything you need to know. Very informative, and easy to follow.
It’s something new that TiVo is starting. Somehow you can broadcast your videos on tv, if someone else has the same equipment, they can watch it, and vice versa. A lot of companies are sinking TONS of money into it. Even the porn industry is doing it, and you KNOW they lead the way in video technology.
I have an avi format video and I know there is a way to split avis into a different *or same no problem there* movie file and some sort of playback file for music. please help. I figure there’s some random flash or amv artist out here on yahoo right now so plz help. tanks. lol tankman refference ![]()
